Pick of the Week — MESSER

This week’s Pick of the Week is an awesome, high-detail design submitted by the band MESSER. Here is some info about them from their Reverbnation site:

“MESSER started writing late July 2009. With only a handful of shows since then, the Dallas, Texas, group has raised the attention of industry and fans alike by the lightning fast rise of popularity, both locally and nationally. Although some bands prefer not to be compared to anyone, MESSER finds that fans of Soundgarden’s candor, Velvet Revolver’s swagger and the grind of Motley Crue’s music are [...]

The Beauty of Pearls

Here at Clayton, we offer three different white picks for custom design, including white delrin, acetal, and white pearl. If you are looking for a classy pick that is great for playing, or for use as a promotional tool, white pearl is optimal. Our white pearl picks have glossy finish, and they are marbleized, so they automatically have the “upscale look.” White pearls can be great with either single or full color designs, as shown in the image below. White pearl picks are also very popular for weddings, since they look nice and can support a design with any color [...]

Shape Shift

The most popular choice for custom guitar picks is, hands down, our standard shape picks. But some guitarists prefer our rounded triangle picks. These are oversized shaped picks, with equilateral sides. Many guitar players like the larger size of these picks because they are easier to hold on to. This shape is available in a few of our different pick materials. We have rounded triangle in our colored delrin, acetal, ultem, colored pearl and white pearl material. Many designers also like to choose this shape simply for the fact that a rounded triangle pick will allow for more design space. [...]

Getting Funky with the Miller Anderson Band

A little while ago, we posted a blog about customers of Steve Clayton, Inc. using caricatures for their custom pick designs. Shown here is a perfect example of this type of design submitted by Kris Gray, bassist for the Miller Anderson Band. The pick is a rounded triangle acetal, 1.26mm gauge, with a double sided imprint. Kris said that he doesn’t always use picks (when playing) but when he does, ours are always the best, and he gets asked for them a lot so he wanted some to have as give-aways. These picks are a perfect item for Kris to [...]
