Overbleeds on Pearl

diego Here is a really neat pick that I thought we could share today.  We don’t often print overbleeds on Pearl, but this one really came out looking stunning. On our Pearl material we use transparent inks with the exception of black, so that the pearl can show through to the image. At first we weren’t to sure about this one due to the intense colors, however, it turned out better then any of our expecations! It has a really cool water effect to it. This is a good example of [...]

Sweetheart Picks

So through the years I’ve seen quite a few picks made that I label “sweetheart” picks. These picks have speical sayings for a loved one on them. red_picksWell, my boyfriend is being deployed to Iraq for a year (he is in the National Guard) so I thought I would make him some picks with 100 different love notes and inspirational sayings on them for when he is missing home. Even though they were ooey gooey he really appreciated them! If you are [...]

Ultem vs. Tortoiseshell

A loyal customer e-mailed us today asking about the difference between our Ultem pick and authentic Tortoiseshell picks. What a great question for today’s post. Most of you have probably never played with real tortoiseshell before. This is because it became illegal to produce/import tortoiseshell into the United States in 1947, which was before even I was born! A lot of guitar picks are made to have the appearance of tortoiseshell such as our cork-grip picks. However these are actually made of celluloid. Some people bring me some pretty convincing celluloid and tell me they have a true tortoiseshell pick, [...]

Custom Picks – White Delrin

So I decided to pull out my favorite White Delrin picks for the month…and I came up with quite a few. White Delrin is probably my

favorite material that we have just because of how well every logo seems to turn out on it. It is a solid bright white guitar pick, so everything really pops on it. As you can see in the White Rose pick, and the VC pick the brighter colors look very nice and pop out on it. I also thought that the B&P photo turned out gorgeous on this material. All the details of the [...]

A Dull Science

We just recently endorsed the band A Dull Science out of California. They have a good blend of a punk/pop sound to them. With some really great adslyrics, that everyone can relate to, like their song “Cheaters never prosper”. This song has some killer lyrics to it, with a catchy chorus that I couldn’t help singing along to while looking over their press kit. Even better these guys seem to have a sense of humor which is refreshing to see since some bands [...]

Blast from the Past

We had a very fun e-mail come to us in our questions@steveclayton.com box on Friday. The e-mail was telling us about a photo of Steve Clayton located on a scan0026claytonTed Greene Site. The picture has Steve Clayton back in the mid 70’s. Usually when people send us pictures of Steve they are more current, so it was fun to see him from back in the day. You can click on the picture to see other photos from the party Steve was at. [...]
