Pick of the Week — Glazz
This week’s Pick of the Week was made for Glazz, a young but experienced trio from Spain that mixes Jazz, Prog Rock, Funk and World Music. Since 2008 they have released 2 albums by themselves, and a third coming. Their new goal is to sell their music in the U.S., where they’re planning to go next year, and they’re looking for a label to work with. In almost two years, since their first album was released, they’ve played in many different festivals such as the Havana’s Jazz Plaza, [...]
Pick of the Week — Caramelos De Cianuro/UnEnano
This week’s Pick of the Week was made for UnEnano, a guitar player in the Latin band Caramelos de Cianuro, from Venezuela. The band was formed in 1991. They recorded their first songs, “Nadando a Través De la Galaxia” (Swimming Across the Galaxy) and “Tu Mamá Te Va a Pegar” (Your mom is going to hit you), in 1992.
A year later, the group signed up to CNR and released an EP called Las Paticas de la Abuela (Grandma’s Little Feet), followed by the band’s first album, Cuentos Para [...]
Pick of the Week — The Dirty Flirts
The week’s Pick of the Week was created for the band The Dirty Flirts. The Dirty Flirts were born out of the love of being an avid Runaways fan and lover of Female Fronted Bands in the Punk/Rock genres. Momma Dukes (drummer) flirted (ha ha) with the idea with Dawn Sweet (Lead Vox) and after seeking out other like-minded dirty flirts like themselves they found another talented Fem Fatale “T” (Rhythm Axe), and one energized rocker Rob Luv (Lead Axe). Having a bass player issue…, and gone through two [...]
Pick of the Week — Zero Recall Band
This week’s Pick of the Week was made for the Zero Recall band. “The band is relatively new, and is an all out, fun time cover band from New York City. The members of the band are mostly financial services people during the day and closeted, wannabe rock and roll stars at night. The goal every time they play is to make awesome music and to make the crowd dance and sing along. They all come from different backgrounds and draw from many musical genres for their performances. They’re [...]
Pick of the Week — Up a Creek
This week’s Pick of the Week was made for the band Up a Creek. “Up a Creek is a Bellevue based shed bred group of fellas playing Southern Idaho Folk ‘n Roll. Featuring original song writing, the band can best describe their music as a mix of folk and rock…Acoustic guitars. Electric guitars. Whats the difference? Its all in the story. These boys tell a lot of stories. Stories about lovers and losers, sinners and fools. Sifting through the pieces. Redemption always seeming to be just a bit out of [...]
Pick of the Week — Lovely Goodbye
This week’s Pick of the Week is for the band Lovely Goodbye. Lovely Goodbye began as a rock band comprised of four friends from the hills of Appalachia in Johnson City, Tennessee. Coming together from Classic Rock, Punk, Country, and Progressive backgrounds, Lovely Goodbye has evolved from each member’s influences into one of East Tennessee’s premiere original bands. All the members sought to keep the the core principles of the best music alive: professionalism, fun, and a quality live show. The best rock artists combine anthem-like lyrics, a voice [...]
Pick of the Week — SpaceBand
This week’s Pick of the Week was made for the band SpaceBand. SpaceBand is a cover band from Bellingham, WA that focuses on R&B/Hip-hop hits from the 90’s as well as current, chart-topping dance tunes. SpaceBand prides itself on being a 100% live cover band with no backing tracks, so no two shows are exactly alike. To round out their repertoire, SpaceBand tastefully sprinkles in some classic rock, funk, and Motown. Todd Templeton on drums and Aeden Hunter on bass provide the solid, funky foundation on which a temple [...]
Pick of the Week — Ashturn
We are excited to present this week’s Pick of the Week, which was made for the band Ashturn. “Ashturn is a Flemish (Belgian) band formed by Steve (drums), Raf (bass) and Mark (guitar) in 2003. After about a year of rehearsals and song writing Raf switched his bass guitar for a microphone and Tom joined the band as the new bass player. Dennis, who used to be in another band with Steve and Raf, joined the band as the second guitar player a few months later. 8 years later, [...]
